Weekend workshop part one

A few weeks ago I ran a weekend workshop with my lovely friend ceramicist and jeweller Kriket Broadhurst. the Saturday was all about drawing and painting. We braved the elements at a local spot called Penmon point and got creative for the morning outdoors. Back when we planned the course, we thought the weather would be nice enough o enjoy a picnic lunch outdoors but oh no, British weather won and we enjoyed our picnic in our campers. That was half the fun, both Kriket and I have blue VW campers so we drove from place to place in those much to the delight of our ladies (and gent). In the afternoon we relocated to our local boatyard in Beaumaris. What inspiration!!!! I was in my element, I took about 300 photos so believe it or not I have spared you. I just had to share with you. The peeling paint and faded colours on the boats and sheds had me squealing inside with delight. The saddest thing is they are going to ripping this old boatyard apart soon and building brand spanking new sheds..........sacrilege. But guess who will be first in line for the lovely planks of wood and treasures.
A great day was had by all, although we were all ready for a nice hot bath by the end of the day we had been blown to bits and drunk n fresh air. some amazing work was produced in preparation for the next day where we were transferring imagery onto tiles and bowls. I'll be sharing those photos on Monday (probably not quite as many as all these y)
We will definitely be running this course again before the Summer as it was booked up within days and I have a few people waiting for the next dates, I'm looking forward to it.....
Happy weekend all xx

Location:The soap kitchen

Sea salt soap

I'm getting there slowly but trying to redesign this blog and I don't have much patience.  If you blog using an ipad app you can't centralize the words and there are limits of what you can do, so bear with me for a little while until I get it looking great. Sometimes I can use my laptop, i.e now, in the gallery but ideally I wanted to write my blog on my lap at home with my ipad as that is where all my photos are and I use pinterest from.

So,I'm back in this space because I don't feel I can share enough with facebook or twitter or pinterest.  I am inspired by so much every single day and have so much to share.
I hope someone is reading?

I will eventually work out how to add a link to my pinterest, but I have to admit I am NOT the most computer savvy person.

I'm excited to share with you my new soaps.... I have designed (erm can you say that?) 5 soaps....

Mariners, fresh linen, sea air, nautical and mediterranean.  I worked with a local soap makers in town and we have added Anglesey sea salt to them all. They are delicious, and will be available next week....eek!

Right, got some painting to do, so back tonight or tomorrow

Raffy

We are still here.... time just flies.....Raffy is 9 1/2 weeks old now and such a joy. He smiles for hours after waking in the morning and while I top and tail him, we dance to the Jungle book and it seems like he tries to sing along. Then we have the golden hour about 9 at night before the last feed and sleep for 10pm Sleep is getting better, slowly, he slept for 6 whole hours straight last night but I'm not counting my chickens just yet. I adore him, my little treasure.

One day I will start to paint again, but for now I am just enjoying being his Mummy xxx
